In our current world of increased demand for 100% technology uptime, next day fixes are no longer quick enough. Consumers and, in turn, retailers are becoming increasingly impatient and intolerant of technology failure.

In the first of two reports, we look at consumer perceptions of in-store technology and how it impacts the high street shopping experience.

Almost all survey participants had experienced retail technology, two-thirds had experienced technology, such as payment terminals, breaking down and one-third stated that failure prevented them from completing purchase. With retail technology downtime estimated to cost around £3,675 per minute, retailers and technology providers can’t afford not to provide fast fixes.
