New partnership aims to decarbonise field service operations

ByBox and The Algorithm People form a strategic partnership in the UK

Their combined solution will help field service operations to:

  • Reduce mileage and emissions
  • Increase operational efficiency
  • Further, enhance customer service

Two technology leaders are working together to help companies with field service operations to cut emissions from their fleets.

ByBox and The Algorithm People have signed an exciting partnership agreement for the UK. By combining their solutions, they aim to make it easier for field service companies to deploy electric vans while also improving customer service.

Nickie Hunt Mason, Sales Director for ByBox, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with The Algorithm People. Together we can help fleet and inventory teams transform their operations based on insight and evidence. Not only will this accelerate the decarbonisation of their field service operations but it will also offer a strategic source of value and differentiation.”

ByBox is modernising field service inventory management to enhance visibility and control over parts all the way to the field service edge. This enables companies to understand, manage and optimise every aspect of their field service inventory management – from controlling inventory through to last-mile delivery and collection. This integrated approach improves first-time fix rates, increases engineer productivity, and reduces unnecessary mileage and emissions whilst taking cost out of the supply chain.

The Algorithm People is a leader in route optimisation software. Its Decarbonisation Road Map is a unique, evidence-based fleet analysis tool which helps companies to make the switch to EVs in the most cost-effective way possible. Furthermore, its My Transport Planner route optimisation platform is designed to optimise mixed fleets of petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. Through smarter vehicle loading and route planning, My Transport Planner can reduce total fleet mileage by up to 20 per cent, and operational costs by up to 30 per cent. Better route planning also enables more accurate ETA data, enhancing customer service.

Colin Ferguson, CEO of The Algorithm People, said: “ByBox is a leader in its field, offering proven productivity benefits to its clients. By combining our solutions, we can substantially increase those gains, while also enabling fleets to switch to EVs.”

The range of electric vans can be impacted by payload. Reducing on-vehicle inventory through solutions such as ByBox will therefore make e-vans more suitable to field service operations. With a network of more than 1,400 UK locations, field teams are never far away from a ByBox site and this is likely to become even more convenient as take up in EVs grows.

Nickie added: “Every service moment is an opportunity to exceed ever increasing expectations and delight customers. Successful field service organisations will continue to leverage service as a competitive differentiator to drive growth. To fully capitalise on this building partnerships will be increasingly important to enable agile and effective solutions that are sustainable and deliver a great customer experience.”
