Rental and concession

Following recent growth in its core transport and postal markets, ByBox has diversified from a traditional manufacturing business into a full-service locker network and software management company.

Increasingly, ByBox is being asked to take over the management of its customer locker installations, leaving them free to concentrate on their core business without neglecting this useful source of revenue.

Responding to these new growth opportunities ByBox is increasing its distributor base in important geographic territories and developing new economic models to underpin long-term partnership contracts. These in turn produce improved service levels for customers and more proactive and creative use of the locker space.

Since 2004 ByBox has won contracts under the following new business models:

Rental

  • ByBox finances the manufacture and installation of lockers under long-term rental contracts (generally from 3 to 5 years)
  • This formula allows the customers to operate the market-leading product supported by a pan-European agent and maintenance network – all for low monthly service fees.
  • This also provides flexibility in allowing products, services and markets to be tested before having to make significant capital expenditure decisions.
  • This type of rental solution has been chosen by several customers in applications ranging from postal lockers (Coliposte) to left-luggage lockers (Mercure Hotels).

Leasing

Leasing or purchase options are available on request for those requiring ultimate ownership of the lockers.

Concession

The concession model is becoming more important with ByBox increasingly asked to manufacture, install and maintain networked locker locations in return for a share of the revenue stream from customers.

  • This minimises investment from transport operators and shares the risks and the revenues of the project.
  • ByBox funds all costs of the lockers - manufacture, telecommunications, installation, maintenance (including cash collection) and reporting. This allows the customer to focus on their core business.
  • This solution is currently in operation with European hotels, airports & railways companies.
