Consumers don’t permanently rent their own dropbox – they wouldn’t use it often enough. During checkout, instead of entering their home address they simply select a dropbox location close to where they live or work.

ByBox collects the package from the retailer and delivers it to the dropbox in the middle of the night. The consumer receives a text message with the collection code required to collect the package.

Not only is this super-convenient for the customer, it is also a great way to reduce carbon. Recent research suggests ByBox’ distribution network is 1,000% more carbon efficient compared to traditional methods of distribution. We deliver multiple packages in a single visit to a bank of dropboxes (consolidating deliveries = reduced carbon) and we drive in the middle of the night, dramatically reducing daytime congestion.
