What is a PUDO?

PUDO stands for “Pick Up Drop Off” and very simply it is a place where parts or other items are collected (picked up) or returned (dropped off). A single PUDO is usually part of a wider PUDO network with hundreds or even thousands of locations.

Definitions vary, however generally PUDOs are staffed. A person or team of staff will process the part transfer, by scanning parts in and out of the PUDO location, and is also often responsible for finding the part in the stockroom. PUDOs can be whole warehouses but are typically smaller locations or shops.

In field service logistics, PUDOs are used as a way to get parts to engineers at a location that is convenient and requires less travelling time.
