Current Initiatives

  • We have started trialling bio-diesel in our distribution network (over 5 million parcel deliveries a year). This is good for the environment and good for us because it is a lot cheaper than normal diesel. Again, truly self-sustaining.
  • We changed our core product (electronic drop-boxes) to “go to sleep” when not in use, rather than using electricity unnecessarily when not in use. This is good for the environment (we have thousands of boxes installed today) and good for us because it is cheaper. Self-sustaining responsibility. Wouldn’t it be great if ATMs did the same thing?
  • We also do advanced technology warehousing for IT companies. We re-wrote our stock management system to be 100% paperless. Great for the environment and great for us, because it is so much more efficient for our picking staff.
  • In 2008 we are launching our first electric delivery vehicle. Good news for the environment and far cheaper even than bio-diesel. So why doesn’t everyone do it?

As you can see, we are commercially motivated to maintain every one of the initiatives listed above. Consequently, we will carry on doing them because they make sense, not because it makes us feel good. Self-Sustaining Responsibility.
